The Garden Retreat self catering accommodation (VisitBritain 4 star) in Cheddon Fitzpaine. An idyllic rural retreat set in the foothills of the Quantocks.

We are 15 minutes drive from the M5 motorway and a few minutes drive from the Quantock Hills and the renowned Hestercombe, a popular wedding venue and famous for its gardens. We are also close to Somerset County Cricket Ground and the West Somerset Railway. Cheddon Fitzpaine village is a short walk away and boasts the lovely 17th century St Mary’s Church.

The Garden Retreat offers a peaceful escape into the heart of the countryside. The self catering apartment is set within the main house and has been recently refurbished. It offers two double bedrooms (one with twin beds) and a separate bathroom with an ‘over bath’ shower. The large lounge with integral dining area has a TV and modern electric fire.

The fully equipped kitchen has a microwave oven, full size oven with grill and washer drier. It is centrally heated and has a plentiful supply of hot water. The apartment has a wireless connection to the internet. There is ample car parking within the grounds and a patio area for those evening barbecues.

The Garden Retreat is located within a large mature garden which has been designed to offer interest throughout the year. It contains a large number of specimen trees including a spectacular floodlit weeping willow set in the main lawn.

Many species of camellias and rhododendrons flower during the spring along with more than 20 different varieties of daffodils. Later in the year brings magnolia, roses, dahlias and hydrangeas and tree peonies.
